“I was very surprised and honored to receive Employee of the month. I work with so many thoughtful co-workers. They are always there to help out with anything at anytime. I was born in Lamar and have lived in Barton County for most of my life. I married Kenny in 1968 and lived in Golden City until moving back to the family farm in Lamar in 1991 where we still reside. We have two married children:Rebecca and son-in-law Sterling, Eric and daughter-in-law Shelley, and have been blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren. I have one older brother, one older sister and two younger brothers. BCMH has been a part of my family since the early 1950’s. My grandmother worked in dietary and laundry. My grandfather would bring grandma to work and I would come along in hopes to see the new babies in the hospital nursery or maybe sample a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Back then, if a patient needed clean linens or a drink grandma would ask me to take it to the patient. That was always fun because I would usually stay and visit awhile. I began working at BCMH in May of 1993 and left in October of 1996. After a few years off, I returned to work in September of 1999. The business office is where you will find me, working mostly with the MoHealthNet insurance billing. Currently I am on the Diabetes board, Planetree Steering Committee, and the Planetree Nutrition Committee. I am very proud to be a part of the Planetree organization. It is such a privilege to work for BCMH with wonderful caring people. It is like my second family. If my family or I needed the facilities at BCMH I know they have skilled and caring professionals to care for us. I love spending time with my family, (my grandchildren keep grandma up to date with all the new electronic things; but it doesn’t mean I know how to work them after they explain it to me, but I do enjoy watching them). I love traveling on our Harley D., gardening, collecting memorabilia, antiquing and driving my VW. I thoroughly enjoy my job and all the people I work with and very thankful to have a GREAT place to work. THANK YOU ALL !”
