“I was in total disbelief and tearful to learn I had been named February BCMH Employee of the Month! What a huge honor this is to me to be nominated by my co-workers. These are the people who take such delicate care of patients and that I spend so much time with and see through the good times along with bad. BCMH has the most caring and heartfelt people working here and I am so honored. My parents and I moved from Thornton, Colorado to Nevada, Missouri in the fall of 1975 where my parents opened Kirk Office Machines which they owned and operated for many years. After graduating from Nevada High School I attended college for a short time and met my wonderful husband of 19 years, Kevin. He is the Manager of Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts here in Lamar and we have two blessings, Zachary who is 15 and a Freshman at Lamar High School and Jackalynn who is 12 and a 6th grader at Lamar Middle School. We are active members at the Lamar United Methodist Church. My God is an important part of my life along with my family and friends! I am the Treasurer for the New Century Club, and have been involved for many years with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I worked at the Lamar Greenhouse designing and delivering for 6 years then went to work at O’Sullivan Industries as the receptionist which turned into 12 years in the Human Resource department as a Human Resource Assistant. I then came to work here at Barton County Memorial Hospital in July of 2007 as the Human Resource Assistant. Since being employed with BCMH I have completed the Freedom From Smoking Class 1 year and three months ago and have now became a Facilitator. I so enjoy my co-workers and my job. When you enjoy your job it is always easy to come to work each day. I enjoy watching the kids in their activities, wine tasting with husband and friends, playing on Facebook and reading Nicholas Sparks books, along with keeping track of my father Jack who moved here to be closer to the grandkids. What a real honor this is! From the bottom of my heart, thank you BCMH employees.”
