“I am extremely honored and humbled to be voted employee of the month. It really means a lot to me, as I have enjoyed the 5 ½ years that I’ve worked at BCMH. I have come to feel like my co-workers are my extended family. I am truly lucky to be able to spend my days at work with such skilled, caring, dependable people. I grew up outside of Nevada, Missouri and graduated high school there. I attended college in Kansas City and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Radiography from Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas. I attended clinicals at Truman Medical Center, Mercy Health System and Nevada Regional Medical Center. I first worked in Nevada as a student and later joined BCMH as a full time employee 3 days after graduation. I work in the Radiology department taking x-rays and doing CT scans, with some occasional office & billing duties. I work with a great, smart group of ladies that are very good at what they do. They have “raised” me from student to now, and I have learned so much from them. While at BCMH, I have been a clinical instructor to Labette Community College, am on the Safety Committee and the Healing Spaces team. Also, my Jack Russell Terrier, Wylie, is part of the Pet Therapy program. I married the love of my life Travis Denney in 2004 and we currently reside in Sheldon, Missouri in a home formerly owned by Travis’ grandparents. We have a beautiful 1 year-old daughter, Linleigh. She is a blessing each and every day. We also share our home with our rascal of a dog, Wylie and our black cat, Harlow. We are soon opening a restaurant, The Pepper Mill, on the square in Lamar. Thank you to everyone at BCMH. You all are close to my heart. It truly is a special place.”
