“It is such an honor to be chosen employee of the month! I have never before had the privilege to work with such a great group of people. My first job in the medical field was at the old BCMH as a home health aide in 1996. I then went to LPN school and graduated in 1998. After that I received my associate degree as a registered nurse and two years later finished my BSN. Five years later I completed my MSN and am a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Golden City Clinic. When I first started as a nurse aide I was not interested in the medical field. But then I met Candy, she was one of the first nurses that I had the opportunity to work with. I was so impressed by her caring and nurturing nature that I hoped one day I could help people like she did. I realized that I wanted to be able to do more for them than I could with my education, so my journey began. That journey brought me full circle. Back to the place I started and first gained my passion for nursing. Since I last worked here the hospital has changed dramatically in appearance. Thankfully what’s on the inside has not changed; the wonderful employees and the many generations of patients that have called BCMH their home away from home. I am overwhelmed by the kind words of my co-workers. I could not provide the care I do without the support of Nina and Carol. With their help I am able to focus on what is important; the patient. Working in Golden City has allowed me to return to nursing the way I wanted to practice. I have been married for 16 years to my high school sweetheart, Mike. We have two beautiful children. Brittany is 15 and has grown into a wonderful young lady. Brayden is 3 and is always a laugh a minute. I enjoy boating at Stockton, scrapbooking, and any time spent with family and friends. I am currently training to run a 5k by the end of summer and am trying to learn some Spanish. Again thank you so much for this honor. It is very humbling to be chosen for employee of the month for doing my job. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people who are not only my co-workers but my friends.”
