“To receive this award is humbling. I have been privileged to be a part of BCMH for 10 years and full time in the diabetes education department for over 2 years. I work daily with an amazing team in the diabetes education department and am in awe of the talented and dedicated people serving our patients and community in every hospital department. Many deserve this award more than I. Our beautiful new hospital and its employees are inspiring, because we want to act to accomplish great things by dreaming, planning, and believing that we can provide leadership to serve and improve the health of our community. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we take great pride in the endeavors and achievements of those who have gone before us and given us the opportunity to continue their purpose. I was born at BCMH (delivered by Dr. Cain) and raised at Ritchey, MO. I was brought back to this area when my grandparents bought Cooky’s Café. I worked there on the weekends while in high school. This is where I met my husband and this vicinity became home. Bobby and I have been married for 29 years and live on the family farm. We have been incredibly blessed with 2 sons, 2 daughters, 2 daughters-in-law and 1 grandson. Our children; Adam, Melanie, Matthew and Bekah completed high school at Lockwood and have made us proud and given us much joy through the years. God has been my inspiration and my family a priority, but I also enjoy my home, reading, cooking, playing with plants, and making rag quilts. Not enough appreciation can be expressed to all my family and friends for supporting me when I wanted to go back to college to complete my nursing degree. Their patience and support were invaluable. I have enjoyed each and every job I have had in the nursing field and appreciate the foundation and opportunities that I have been given. I am truly grateful to be a small piece of the BCMH team and want to say thank you to those who motivate us to be the best we can be.”
